A nice sketch pencil, the body of pencil is hand turned by me from a piece of spalted maple.
Spalted Maple is technically not a specific species of Maple, but rather a type of Maple that has been allowed to begin initial stages of decay. The partial decay, called spalting, gives the wood dark contrasting lines and streaks where fungus has begun to attack the wood.
I have chosen to pair this material with chrome fittings.
This piece has been hand turned by me and hand fitted to the metal fittings. This pencil has been checked for comfort and fit before finishing. The pencil is then hand sanded to a nice smooth feel, then a hard durable finish is hand applied and polished to a high gloss finish.
I have paid attention to the every detail during the production of this unique pencil. Each component is hand checked for proper fit and finish before assembly. Once assembled, this beautiful writing implement is given a final hand polish and checked once again to ensure a flawless fit.
This pencil features a precision collet mechanism, includes a 90 mm length of 3 mm lead, built-in sharpener in the plunger and an attractive clip.
